TipsForSuccess: How to Be Lucky

How to Be Lucky

Many people are looking for luck. In fact, "luck" is a very popular Internet word search.

As you may have already worked out for yourself, you make your own luck. You control your future.

An easy way to make your own luck is to just make up your mind.

"We used to talk about 'breaks' in the writing business all the time, you know. And I just haven't had any good breaks lately.

"So I said, 'Well, that's just a matter of making up your mind to have some good breaks.'"

"So I made up my mind to have some good breaks. In the ensuing week I sold a movie and had a heck of a lot of other things happen, all of which were unexpected." -- L. Ron Hubbard

Recommendations

1. Make up your mind that you are going to be lucky. Decide that you will have some good breaks and that everything will now go your way.

2. Write down how you will be lucky this week. What good things could happen to you this week? Truly decide that these things will happen. Expect success.

Give it a try!

Good Manners Are Key to Your Success

Do you like people who are rude to you? Do you mind if someone interrupts you? Are you happy when people ignore you?

Of course not. No one likes bad manners.

People with bad manners are rejected. They do not get the good jobs or the promotions. Their businesses do not succeed.

People with good manners are accepted. They are liked and supported. They have the friends, the luck and the success.

"In a culture, manners are the lubrication that ease the frictions of social contacts." -- L. Ron Hubbard

When you improve your social conduct, you improve your chances for success. You earn the support, respect and popularity you need to succeed.

12 Examples of Good Manners

Good manners vary from one culture to another. The following examples apply to most circumstances.

1. Be polite to everyone you meet. You will never regret being too polite, but you might regret being rude. For example, when you go on a sales call or job interview, be courteous to receptionists and assistants as they can affect your chances of succeeding.

2. Use the magic words as often as possible: "Please," "Excuse me," "Sorry" and "Thank you."

3. Use good manners in all communications. Examples:
* Return telephone and e-mail messages within 24 hours.
* Do not use swear words or vulgar words.
* If you receive a rude message, do not respond until you can be polite.
* Do not interrupt people.
* Make sure people are ready to listen to you before you start talking.
* Talk less than 50% of the time.

4. Leave generous tips for food servers, luggage handlers, auto valets, hairdressers or barbers who do their jobs.

5. Use good manners as a driver. Weaving in and out of heavy traffic and cutting in front of other cars only gains you a few seconds of time. If you are courteous, patient and calm, you arrive safely and more relaxed.

6. Do not blow your nose, use toothpicks or perform other bodily activities in front of guests or people you respect. Never smoke around a non-smoker.

7. Show your appreciation at every opportunity, even for small things. "Thank you for returning my call." "Your advice has been very helpful." "I appreciate your taking the time to meet with me."

8. Arrive early for appointments. When you arrive late, you appear to be disrespectful, disorganized or both.

9. A good sense of humor is good manners. However, avoid all jokes about race, disability, sex and so on. Tell jokes about yourself or pass on humorous stories that anyone would enjoy.

10. If someone treats you with bad manners, do not lower yourself to the same level. Smooth out the friction with your best manners. For example, when one politician publicly criticizes another, the smarter politician is polite. For example, "Senator, I respect you too much to respond to that."

11. Before starting important conversations, meals or meetings, turn off your cell phone. Ignoring people while you chat on your cell phone is disrespectful. You can probably leave your cell phone off for hours with no lasting harm.

12. Do not try to show off or prove you are more important than others. This is called "one-upmanship" and is poor manners. For example, a friend is excited about meeting an important scientist. You immediately "top" him and tell about the time when you met a much more important scientist.

TipsForSuccess: How Toxins Hurt Your Success

How Toxins Hurt Your Success

Toxin: A poisonous substance.

You are bombarded with toxins every day. Air pollution, water pollution and food chemicals get into your body. Toxins are in cleaning products, paint, fertilizers, construction material, bug sprays, even perfume. Medical drugs are also toxins that you receive during medical operations and dental visits, or through prescriptions.

Perhaps the worst toxins of all are street drugs: marijuana, cocaine, LSD, ecstasy, speed and so on.

L. Ron Hubbard discovered three important facts about toxins:

1. Toxins, especially street drugs, have long-term effects on your personality. Even after you stop using drugs, you are never your old self. You may be less alert or less intelligent than before you took drugs. You may not be as patient, friendly or kind.

"Drugs can apparently change the attitude of a person from his original personality to one secretly harboring* hostilities and hatreds he does not permit to show on the surface." -- L. Ron Hubbard from "Clear Body, Clear Mind" page 13 (*harboring: holding in the mind; maintaining.)

Can remember how you felt before you took drugs. Was it easier for you to learn? Maybe you could think more clearly back then?

Success is difficult when you dislike or distrust people.

2. When you get toxins in your body, bits of these toxins do not leave. They can enter your blood at any time to hurt your personality and your ability to think.

"In the 1970s, working with cases of individuals who had been drug users, and in a study of their physical symptoms and behavioral patterns, I made a startling discovery.

"People who had been on LSD at some earlier time sometimes had reactions which appeared to act as if they had just taken more LSD!"

"LSD apparently stays in the system, lodging in the tissues, and mainly the fatty tissues of the body, and is liable to go into action again--giving the person unpredictable 'trips'--even years after the person has come off LSD."

"In the face of this discovery, was it then also possible that residues of other drugs could lock up in the system and at some point reactivate with similar, if less dramatic, effect?"

"Thus it seems that residues* of any or all of these hostile biochemical* substances apparently have the potential of remaining in the system, getting caught up in the tissues and remaining there, unsuspected, even after they have supposedly been eliminated from the body years earlier."-- L. Ron Hubbard
from "Clear Body, Clear Mind" pages 25-28 (*residues: the parts of something that remains) (*biochemical: the chemicals of a living system)

Clinical tests and medical autopsies prove that toxins do, in fact, get embedded in body tissues and can stay there until they are removed.

3. You can remove the stored toxins from your body through an intense program of sweating and nutrition. The program is called the Purification program.

"How does the Purification program work?

"Running is done to get the blood circulating deeper into the tissues where toxic residuals are lodged and thus act to loosen and release the accumulated harmful deposits and get them moving.

"Very important, then, is that the running is immediately followed by sweating in the sauna to flush out the accumulations which have now been dislodged.

"Regular nutrition and supplemental nutrition in the form of megavitamin* and mineral dosages and extra quantities of oil are a vital factor in helping the body to flush out toxins and to repair and rebuild the areas that have been affected by drugs and other toxic residuals.

"A proper schedule with enough rest is mandatory, as the body will be undergoing change and repair throughout the program.

"These actions, carried out on a very stringently monitored basis, are apparently accomplishing a detoxification of the entire system, to the renewed health and vigor of the individual." -- L. Ron Hubbard
from "Clear Body, Clear Mind" pages 35-36 (*megavitamin dosages: large amounts of vitamins)

Results

During the Purification program, most people can tell which toxins are moving out of their bodies. For example, On Day 2 your mouth might feel numb as the drugs, used by your dentist, are sweated out. On Days 4, 5 and 6 you might feel high from the marijuana you once smoked. On Day 7, as they flush out, you might smell the paint chemicals that you inhaled from your days as a painter.

Every day on the Purification program eliminates traces of toxins. You experience many ups and downs as the drugs and chemicals are rinsed out of your body. And then one day, near the end of your program, you feel cleaner and healthier than you have in years!

Nearly all of the 250,000 people who have completed the Purification program report one or more of the following benefits.

* Improved physical condition
* Clearer thinking
* More positive outlook on life
* Increased self-confidence
* Feeling younger
* More alert
* Increased energy
* Improved smell, taste, hearing, touch and vision
* Clean feeling

Any of these results significantly increase your chances of success.

TipsForSuccess: The Secret to a Wonderful Marriage

The Secret to a Wonderful Marriage

Why are these statements all lies?

"The honeymoon is over. We can't get the spark back in our marriage."

"When I married you, I expected you'd stay in love with me."

"This other person is my soul mate and so I've got to get a divorce."

When you meet someone and fall in love, it seems like your love will last forever. So you get married. You want a permanent feeling of love. Yet sooner or later, it happens . . . no more spark.

Maybe a marriage counselor tells you to take a weekend trip together. So you give it a try and you feel a little spark again. But once you get back to your routine, the honeymoon is over again.

Maybe you try a drug or drink some wine to make your marriage better. If it helps, it is only temporary and then drops to new lows. Besides, who wants to depend on a chemical for a good marriage?

All too often, husbands and wives give up. They either learn to live with an apathetic relationship or get divorced.

The biggest lie is that once you get married, you can sit back and enjoy it. Unfortunately, a marriage does not exist just because you have a marriage license. A family does not exist just because you have children. You need to create it.

"It's very easy to break down a family because there is no relationship in a family except a pretended relationship."

"Now, I'm not saying that marriage is a false relationship. It isn't. In this society and time, a family is the closest knit, self-perpetuating, self-protecting unit and is necessary economically and otherwise to the society the way it's rigged at this present time."

"The relationship, basically, is a postulated* relationship. There is no truth in the relationship. It is a postulated relationship.

"And when people stop postulating it, it ceases to exist!" -- L. Ron Hubbard
(*Postulated: Something you create or decide is true.)

Like a garden, a marriage needs constant work. To create a beautiful garden, you need to remove the weeds and water the plants. If you do not constantly create or postulate the garden, it dies.

If you and your spouse are postulating your family and marriage, no one can come along and ruin things.

"He seduced my wife and ruined my marriage" is another way of saying, "I ignored my marriage for two years, so she found someone who wanted to create a relationship with her."

If you could just create a marriage one time and forget about it, everyone would have a happy marriage. No one would get divorced. However, it does not work that way.

A happy marriage or happy family requires constant creation by both parties on a daily basis.

Examples of How to Create Your Marriage

* Make an effort to make your spouse laugh whenever possible

* Praise his or her accomplishments

* Keep your body, breath and teeth clean

* Give small gifts and surprises

* If one of you is out of town, talk on the telephone at least once each day

* Agree on goals you can work on together

* Find new ways to help and support your spouse

* Always be willing to listen

* Agree on the most pleasurable experiences you can enjoy together and do them

Of course, the most effective way to create your marriage or other relationship is to decide to do so. If your desire is strong, you will come up with an unlimited number of ways you can create it.
